High-pressure/low-pressure heat exchangers

High-pressure/low-pressure (HP/LP) heat exchangers act as the interface between installations located underground and installations on the surface, for example between an air cooler located underground and a water-cooled chiller on the surface. Water from above ground flows through the high-pressure section, while water from the underground circuit flows through the low-pressure section. The two circuits are separated from each other, meaning that the depth-dependent pressure does not influence the underground circuit. The HP/LP heat exchangers have a standard working pressure of up to 160 bars.
