Condensation plants

Condensation plants are an ideal solution for exhaust air purification in processes with low flow rates and high VOC concentrations. Primarily, the vapour pressures of the solvents to be recovered define the cooling capacity required for VOC condensation. The following applies: the cooling capacity required increases with increasing vapour pressure.

The required cooling capacity can be achieved using mechanical cooling systems or direct or indirect nitrogen cooling. Where feasible, indirect nitrogen cooling employs an additional intermediate coolant circuit that is held at a constant temperature.

This means that condensation plants are able to cope with fluctuating concentrations, allowing sudden peaks with high concentrations – for example during batch processes – to be treated efficiently using this technology. However, this is only one advantage of this plant technology. In addition, this type of plant can be operated continuously seven days a week.
